Tennis was represented at ISPO 2024 by the brothers Zverev.

As a player, Mischa won four titles in doubles and one in singles, and achieved a singles ranking high of 25 in 2017.

He now contributes to the career of his younger brother Alexander, aka Sasha, as part of Sasha Zverev Management.

Mischa appeared in three sessions at the ISPO trade fair in Munich, while current World No. 2 Alexander joined him by video for the final session.

Together they discussed how virtual reality technology and neuro-athletic training will shape the future of sport.

Alexander noted that tennis players are trying to improve that extra 1-2% that could push them from No. 5 to No. 1 in the world.

He explained that by using the technology of Munich-based company ImproVR, he can see what’s not quite right with his movement on court and how to correct it – giving the example of when he’s not turning the right way for a shot because his “body is not listening” to his brain.

The software produced by ImproVR enables brain-based training though easy-to-use VR technology. To Zverev, the system allows him to reach and maintain “peak performance”.
